At first glance, it appears to be a classic light bulb hanging above the brass lamp holder. But upon closer inspection, you realize the image isn't quite right.
This original lamp combines design with holographic technology. A light bulb appears to float above the brass lamp holder with a pull switch, while in reality it's a carefully positioned hologram. The image is visible through a real light source mounted on a slender rod, illuminating the hologram.
When the lamp is lit, a subtle red point of light appears within the whole, making the effect even more intriguing. The interplay between real light and illusion gives the lamp an almost magical appearance—precisely the kind of visual surprise for which Maurer is so renowned.
The result is a lighting object that is both minimalist and playful. On the wall, it looks refined and almost technical, but as soon as the light is switched on, it transforms into a fascinating visual experiment.
A lamp that does not only illuminate.
But it makes every visitor pause for a moment and wonder what exactly he or she is seeing.
