About the item
The Prismar is an exceptional Italian light object from 1972. The geometric construction in mirrored glass transforms as soon as the lamp is lit, creating a hypnotic interplay of light, reflection, and depth.
About design and history
The lamp is constructed from mirrored glass panels surrounding a metal structure. Due to the successive reflections, the light source appears to multiply endlessly, an early and particularly strong example of experimental Italian lighting design from the 1970s.
About the designer and maker
The Prismar was designed by Studio ARDITI and produced by Nucleo, a division of Sormani . The design belongs to the radical Italian period in which technology, optical illusion, and interior design increasingly merged.
About fitness
The lamp is in exceptionally beautiful vintage condition . The mirror glass and metal elements have been beautifully preserved and allow the characteristic infinity effect to come fully into its own.
