About design and history
The Egg Chair was designed in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen . The enclosed, organic shell created privacy in the open hotel lobby and grew into one of the absolute icons of Danish modernism. The swivel base and flowing form make the design just as powerful nearly seventy years later.

About the designer and maker
Arne Jacobsen is one of the most important Danish architects and designers of the 20th century. His collaboration with Fritz Hansen produced several design classics. The Egg remains perhaps the most recognizable example of his total vision of architecture, interior, and furniture design.

About fitness
Both armchairs are in very beautiful condition and have developed an even natural patina together. Rustic leather actually becomes more beautiful as it ages. Two pieces available; the listed price applies per chair.
