The Traccia Table, designed by Swiss surrealist Meret Oppenheim in 1939 and produced by Cassina as part of their prestigious "I Maestri" collection. This recent edition is crafted entirely from gold-colored metal; both the etched top and the characteristic bird legs are finished in a warm gold hue, giving the table a sculptural, almost mythical character.
The oval tabletop is subtly engraved with bird tracks, like a surreal trail of an invisible, passing visitor. The two finely crafted legs, shaped like gilded bird feet, elegantly balance between lifelike realism and dreamlike alienation.
The table is in excellent condition and forms a perfect dialogue between art and design. The Traccia Table is signed.
