This chair was recently found in the attic by the owners of a home from the 1930s. The chair is said to have been in the attic for about 40 years, so it has been well preserved and the chair is in very good vintage condition, especially considering that it is almost 100 years old.
Aalto used laminated wood for the construction of this armchair, i.e. layers of wood glued together. New adhesive techniques from the aircraft industry made it possible to absorb the large forces of the floating seat and backrest. The seating area is made of plywood with a veneer layer.
