Gae Aulenti was a Italian architect.
She designed the lamp so that it was adjustable in height by working with it
telescopic mechanism.
The lamp was innovative in terms of creating diffuse light.
The white cap consists of metacrylate.
The shape of the hood reminds many people of the wings of a bat.
& hence the name "Pipistrello" which is equivalent to "bat" in Italian.
It is very difficult to find this first edition lamp in such an excellent condition.
The lamp is incredibly popular and displays a playful yet very modern look in the interior.
And it remains a top classic that you must have!
