Charles Eames Chaise Longue ES106
Film director Billy Wilder asked one of his best friends Charles Eames to look for a sofa bed in his office that should serve as the ideal siesta or brief relaxation.
Because "A man with my reputation just can't afford to have something in his office that looks like a bed," Wilder said.
Charles Eames himself designed this ideal relax office chair.
The chair is designed in such a way that it is large enough to sleep on but narrow enough to prevent long snoozes. Wilder would sleep with his arms crossed, As he sank into a deeper sleep, his arms fell softly on his side to the floor, which naturally woke him up.
And the Eames Chaise longue was born.
