About the item
Exceptional set of six Brutalist dining chairs for Sigma Furniture, Deinze, 1967. A particularly powerful ensemble with a pure, architectural appearance and a rarity rarely encountered today.
Design and history
The chairs combine a sleek chrome frame with stretched saddle leather, creating a perfect balance between industrial precision and warm elegance. Their graphic silhouette and pure form language make this a textbook example of minimalist Belgian Brutalist design from the late 1960s.
Designer and maker
Sigma Furniture was founded in Deinze in 1963 and specialized in high-end minimalist furniture for an international clientele. The designs originated from the in-house R&D team led by Rufin Dedoncker. It is precisely because of this that Sigma pieces are highly valued by collectors and interior architects today.
Condition
This set is in exceptionally good vintage condition. The chrome is bright and well-maintained, with minimal signs of use, and the saddle leather is beautifully preserved. An extremely rare set with strong authenticity and presence.
