Ludwig Mies van der Rohe 'MR' chaise longue for Knoll

The frame made of steel tubes is adjustable in 3 positions. This way you can choose your own sitting position. The cushion is made of high-quality, black leather.

In 1964 Mies van der Rohe granted the exclusive rights to produce MR Series to Knoll International. This version dates from the 1980s and comes from the first owner. This one was maniacally maintained.

​​​​​​​Both the leather seat and the metal frame are in very good original condition and marked.

The combination of bent steel tube and high-quality leather upholstery gives the Knoll lounger a classic, elegant character. The MR collection represents some of Mies van der Rohe's earliest steel furniture designs. The choice of materials is inspired by fellow Bauhaus master Marcel Breuer, while the shapes are thought to be modern derivatives of 19th-century iron rocking chairs.
