Description

Anyone who sees this set in a garden is very curious about the inside of the house ... These are so rare and a beautiful example of minimalist design.

Pure class and simplicity!

Willy Guhl was a Swiss furniture designer and became one of the most important representatives of 20th century Swiss neo-functionalism. Between 1941 and 1980, Guhl taught at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich. This lively but precise chair from 1954 has brought Guhl great fame.

In 1954, Guhl designed the Loop Chair for Eternit, which instantly became a mid-century classic and his most recognized design. This continuous, ribbon-like garden chair perfectly personified his personal maxim: "Achieve the most with a minimum of effort".

It was awarded the Gute Form Prize and is housed in the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany, the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Guhl died in 2004, in his hometown, at the age of 89.

There are many reproductions of those chairs. That is an original and 1st edition. this set is no less than 70 years old.
