Barcelona Chairs with footstool designed by Mies Van der Rohe for Knoll, 1929
Authentic Barcelona Chair with footstool designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for Knoll. This set has obtained an exceptionally beautiful patina.
This is an authentic Mies Van der Rohe Barcelona chair in ivory-colored natural leather.
This is also the color of the first Barcelona chairs that were specially designed for the Barcelona pavilion in 1929, this for the world exhibition in Barcelona.
The pavilion served as a reception area and was demolished after the exhibition. But because of its architectural and monumental importance, it was rebuilt by a group of Spanish architects between 1983 and 1986 and is a cultural heritage.
The chair was designed by one of the most influential architects of the 20th century Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe originally designed the Barcelona chair for the royal couple of Spain. The famous Barcelona Chair is the best-selling lounge chair ever.
The details make this chair so stunningly beautiful. The chairs are so elegant and embody the best known motto of L. Mies van der Rohe "less is more". The design is inspired by an antique folding chair.
Delvaux provided the handmade cushions for the chairs. They are modern, timeless and very progressive in design.
