Description
The Bubble Chair by Christian Daninos rarely comes up for sale on the market. He is sought after by many national and international interior architects and decorators.
Very few copies of the chair were made and have only been in production for a short time, making it a highly sought-after collector's item.
This is partly because Christian Daninos designed only 1 chair and focused more on art and film.
Yet in 1968 he designed this iconic masterpiece and immediately patented it.
This chair was used in Star Trek movies and in the iconic Scarface movie starring Tony Montana.
The Bubble Chair is part of the permanent collection at the "Museum of decorative arts Paris".
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!
Christian Daninos was born on July 28, 1944 in Cheverny. His mother is a pianist and his father is the writer Pierre Daninos.
After graduating from secondary school, he prepared for the entrance examination for the decorative arts at the Académie Charpentier, where he was admitted in 1963. It was also on this date that he met Patrick Bokanowski with whom he began a close artistic collaboration. Through him he met the painter Henri Dimier, whose influence would be decisive.
In parallel to his career as a painter, Christian Daninos will pursue an activity of inventor, designer and graphic designer. In 1968, he designed and patented an armchair in Plexiglas and steel, the "Bulle" armchair, which would become a furniture benchmark in the 1970s.
